Implementation & Support Engineer

Engineering
Remote
Full Time
$110,000 - $130,000

We're looking for an Implementation Engineer for an immediate start in a fully remote position. Join a team that's helping over 1,400 NDIS businesses across the country make the switch to Astalty — and make it seamless.

Our Vision and Values

Astalty is one of the leading NDIS software providers, dedicated to becoming the default choice for NDIS businesses — the software teams reach for first, without hesitation.

Our values are built around action, honesty, curiosity, and care: we get things done quickly and consistently; we're transparent with our team, ourselves, and our customers; we take time to deeply understand the problems we solve; and we go further than anyone else to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Our mission is to build powerful yet easy-to-use software, backed by a world-class customer experience.

Our vision is simple: to be the default choice of software for NDIS businesses — a solution so trusted, so intuitive, and so well-supported that choosing anything else doesn't make sense.

Who you are

You're technical, methodical and you care about getting the details right. When someone hands you a messy spreadsheet export from a legacy system, you don't panic — you write a script, clean the data and get it where it needs to go.

  • You are proficient in AI coding, including using tools such as Claude, Cursor, AWS Bedrock, and any other AI technologies with in depth knowledge about confidentiality and privacy controls when using these tools.

  • You're comfortable generating Python scripts to transform, validate and manipulate data.

  • You can leverage modern PHP, Python and Javascript frameworks to build internal tools and interfaces.

  • You can talk to customers directly. You don't need everything wrapped up in a ticket before you can help — you can jump on a call, understand what they need and figure out the path forward.

  • You're self-directed. We won't hand you a detailed playbook for every migration because every customer's data is different. You should be able to assess what's in front of you, identify the problems and build a solution.

  • You try to find solutions on your own but you're also not afraid to ask for help. You'll work closely with our Customer Success and engineering teams and it's important you can communicate clearly and directly.

  • You enjoy learning about the problems we're solving. You don't need to know the NDIS inside out on day one but you should be curious about the industry and willing to learn how it all works.

  • Ideally you have experience with PHP, Laravel, Vue, React, Node.js and Python. When you're not working on implementations, you'll be helping the rest of the engineering team and support team ship features that directly impact our customers' onboarding and implementation experience.

What you'll do

Your primary focus will be data migration and customer onboarding. You'll be the person who makes sure every new customer's transition to Astalty is smooth, accurate and stress-free. When you're not busy with data migrations, you'll assist the wider engineering team and assist with technical support issues where your skills can make a difference. Each day will be different but will generally consist of;

  • Writing and maintaining Python and PHP scripts to extract, transform and load customer data from various sources including CSVs, spreadsheets and exports from competing platforms.

  • Working directly with customers during onboarding to understand their existing data, map it to Astalty's data model and resolve any data quality issues along the way.

  • Identifying and fixing data problems — duplicates, missing fields, inconsistent formats — before they become issues in production.

  • Building repeatable migration tooling and processes that scale as we continue to grow our customer base.

  • Documenting migration processes and building internal runbooks so the team can move faster over time.

  • Coordinating with our Customer Success team to ensure every go-live is a great experience for the customer.

  • Helping troubleshoot technical support issues escalated from the broader team, particularly anything data-related.

  • Investigating and resolving data discrepancies or bugs reported by customers.

  • Contributing to internal tooling that improves the onboarding and support experience.

Tools you will use

You should have strong experience with;

  • Python (pandas, csv, JSON wrangling and general scripting)

  • SQL and relational databases

  • Working with APIs and data formats (CSV, JSON, XML)

  • Cursor, Claude, AWS

  • Laravel and PHP (our platform stack)

Whilst not necessary, it would be highly desirable if you have experience with;

  • The NDIS or disability services sector

  • Data migration, ETL or integration work

  • Customer-facing technical roles (solutions engineer, implementation consultant, technical support)

You will have the flexibility to use other tools, languages and frameworks if they best serve our mission.
